She found love and fame on The Bachelor, and now ex-lawyer and TV presenter Anna Robards is focussing on Intu Wellness, a supplement brand she co-founded with Christie Whitehall. We speak to Anna about her supplement business, how she keeps healthy and her fashion style.
What is wellness to you?
Wellness is that feeling you get when you can take on the day, and nothing will stand in your way. It is having the energy to enjoy doing the things you love and the things that must be done, without feeling tired, bloated or uncomfortable.
What makes INTU Wellness different from other supplements?
Intu Wellness was created to help busy women, mums and multitaskers get the most out of their day. Christie, who co-founded INTU Wellness, and I were finding that we were exhausted and our skin looked dull at a time when I had just become a mum, and Christie had had her second child. Taking 1000 supplements to help us with all of the issues was getting ridiculous. Our idea was to create an all-in-one "super powder" that addressed issues that affected many people while also targeting the health of your skin. Our first product was Sleep & Skin Renewal because sleep was our number one priority. It's that knock-on effect you get from not having a good night's sleep. It affects appearance, energy, and mood, among many other things. Our new products target gut health (Gut & Skin Rejuvenation) and energy (Energy & Skin Radiance), other issues many women struggle with.
We have recently also created an "on-the-go" range, where all the above products are packaged into sachets. That way, if you are running out the door, you can throw a sachet in your bag and have your INTU when ready. A new 24/7 wellness experience.
What is your beauty and skincare routine?
I mainly focus on what I put in my body as opposed to what I put on. I'm a big believer that if you are healthy on the inside, it will show on the outside and where there is wellness, beauty follows.
I'm pregnant, so I have to be cautious with what I ingest and put on my skin. I have continued to take, at the okay from my obstetrician, INTU WELLNESS Sleep and Skin Renewal powder. This product has some incredible ingredients that affect your skin directly and indirectly.
I take off my makeup and do a good job of it, something I didn't use to do, cleanse and moisturise. I also use eye masks when I get up to depuff my pregnant eyes.
Aside from that, I like to focus on my diet, mainly ensuring I get lots of veggies, fruit and lean protein daily. The sun really affects my skin, so I try my best to stay out of it as much as possible and always wear a hat, something I didn't do when I was younger and regretting now. And water, water, and more water. It's boring but true.
How would you describe your style?
I like to change up my style. It will come down to who I am seeing and what I am doing. If I am "off duty", I often wear jeans, when I am not pregnant, and a tee. I’ll also add a blazer to that combo for a workday or a business meeting. If I go out, my style will change based on the occasion. Lately, I have been wearing my athleisure wear as much as possible, and it's usually black. I am looking forward to getting back into something a little more elevated. Comfortable but styled.
What are your favourite brands?
I mainly wear Aussie brands, like Rebecca Valance, Rachel Gilbert, Viktoria Woods, Carla Zampatti, Scanlan Theodore and Maticevski.
What are your favourite jewellery/accessory brands?
My sister's jewellery brand, Heinrich/Freeman (lab-grown diamonds). I get a good deal!
I like to save up for a designer bag or shoes. My faves would have to be Tom Ford and YSL at the moment.
