Vintage lovers will appreciate The Melbourne Fair taking over Caulfield Racecourse where art, fashion and antique jewellery from past decades will be taking centre stage.
Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne is turning into the city's largest flea market bursting with antiques to rival Paris's Marché des Puces. The Melbourne Fair will be held from the 23rd to the 26th of March and will bring together furniture, art, jewellery and fashion, offering antique and vintage hunters a wonderful playground to discover unique and pre-loved pieces. The four-day event will also play host to fashion exhibitions and talks including an interesting presentation from fashion anthropologist Tom McEvoy who will share his passion for historical garments, 20th century fashion and how Melbourne became the fashion capital of Australia. A fashion show will also be held showcasing looks from the 20s to the 70s, and for your very own version of Antiques Roadshow, you can bring your own pieces for appraisal by Leigh Capel, an accredited valuer of the Auctioneers and Valuers Association Australia.
