Holidaying with Nature

Embrace nature with an outdoor-indoor feel in a sustainable suite at Quinta da Comporta complete with a private balcony overlooking the rice fields of Portugal.

Eco-warriors can holiday in peace and guilt-free at the Quinta da Comporta hotel where sustainability is at the forefront of the project designed by Portuguese architect, Miguel Câncio Martins.

Blending into its natural surroundings, the hotel is an outstanding result where luxurious accommodation meets nature, creating an exceptional getaway to holidaymakers while working to reduce its impact on nature. With respect of the ecosystem held in the highest regard, the hotel has put in place several features to promote sustainability and to preserve the land including the installation of solar panels to generate electricity, and using bikes and electric buggies within the resort grounds.

The hotel features 73 suites, each individually designed with unique pieces, curated from local artisans, highlighting the talent and heritage of the region. Sustainability and tradition also extend to the hotel restaurant and spa, both inspired by local barns, they were built using recycled Canadian wood and both boast respective menus that work hand-in-hand with nature. The restaurant serves authentic regional dishes made with organic and local produce, which are accompanied by a beautiful view of the rice fields, while Oryza, the hotel spa, works the benefits of rice into its treatments to relax and heal guests, clearing the mind and body from outside noise.
