Melbourne is celebrating the faces of Victorians with the Inside Out project covering Fed Square.
As part of Photo 2021 International Festival of Photography, Fed Square will be hosting the Inside Out project. Initiated by French artist JR, the project will see portraits sent in by individuals printed on rice paper and covering the entirety of the cobblestones of Fed Square, bringing art to the outdoors. The largest scale project in Australia, the Inside Out initiative has already travelled to Ecuador, Nepal, Palestine and Mexico. You need to be quick though if you want to see the 300 portraits of Victorians because by Sunday the images will be erased with foot traffic slowly wearing out the delicate rice paper the photos are printed on.
