The Art of Banksy: Without Limits exhibition in Melbourne takes you into the world of the mysterious artist who uses his talent in street art to draw attention to war, stolen childhoods and consumerism.
Touching, funny, satirical, Banksy’s art is not only instantly recognisable but is also a look into our society through humoristic street art. The illusive artist is known for his signature style of stencils but throughout his The Art of Banksy: Without Limits exhibition currently showing at The District Docklands, visitors are offered a glimpse into perhaps his lesser-known works including oil paintings and sculptures. The show takes you through some of the artist's most famous works including Girl with Balloon and Love Is In The Air (Flower Thrower) as well as guiding you through installations, which include The Walled Off Hotel and a mirrored room projecting his art. A wonderful and tongue-in-cheek way of putting a mirror up to our society from war to consumerism, the Banksy show is an interesting look into an artist's talent and political stance, all from an artist who we don't know his face.
