The Ritz Paris is widening its scope and serving up sandwiches and croissants on-the-go from its new, and very chic, Le Comptoir pastry and sandwich shop.
The Ritz Paris is a plush Parisian hotel that has always been synonymous with fine dining, exclusive high tea and elite cocktails, and now the hotel is widening its culinary offerings and adding lunchbreak take-out to its resume with the opening of Le Comptoir. Le Comptoir brings the refined pastries of the hotel to its pastry and sandwich counter, attracting a wider clientele to savour the delicious creations by pastry chef François Perret. Designed for people on-the-go, the menu includes sandwiches, drinks and of course dessert, and what is genius about the creations is the form the chef has chosen to make the sandwiches and some of the desserts. Breaking down the classic codes of pastry-making, Perret has pushed aside the traditional croissant crescent and the pain au chocolat roll and has shaped the popular breakfast pastries into long pastry sticks, and without compromising their tastes has created easy to eat pastries to devour on the go. The menu includes 3 sandwiches including a vegan option and a chicken Caesar salad sandwich, inspired by the hotel's famous salad, and for anyone who loves creamy drinks, Le Comptoir also makes delicious milkshake-style drinks inspired by the chef's desserts including his signature marble cake. The highlight of the Le Comptoir is of course the dessert spread making your eyes dance as they jump from one mouthwatering cake to another. Bringing the hotel's signature desserts for you to take-away, including 7 different flavoured Madeleine cakes, Le Comptoir invites you to enjoy a piece of the Ritz at home or as you walk through the romantic streets of Paris.
