Enjoy a romantic picnic under the cherry blossoms in Europe's largest Japanese garden.
You can now partake in hanami, the Japanese traditional custom of celebrating cherry blossoms bloom, without leaving Europe in the continent's largest Japanese garden, Parc Oriental. The 29-hectare park in Maulévrier, a commune in the west of France, has recently reopened its doors just in time for the beautiful cherry blossom season where until the 5th of April visitors can marvel at the beauty of the delicate flower. Traditionally celebrated with picnics under the trees in Japan, visitors to Parc Oriental can also throw their picnic blanket and enjoy lunching under the pillowy pink blossoms, a luxury exceptionally accepted by the park for the duration of the hanami season.
